MALIBU
Malibu is 27 miles of luxury along the Pacific Ocean. Long and narrow, many homes have a view of the water and the surrounding hills. Malibu is perfect for people that love luxury, but also live a laid back, casual lifestyle. Beaches, hiking trails, restaurants, and shops make Malibu a dream vacation destination, or what a lucky group of people call “home.”

Some truly iconic restaurants have taken root in Malibu. Including Geoffery’s, Nobu, Paradise Cove, Moonshadow’s, Duke’s, Malibu Seafood, Malibu Farm, and others. Megan’s favorites are the local classics like Spruzzo’s, Taverna Tony, and Cafe Habana.
-
Nightlife in Malibu is limited. Malibu doesn’t have a club or a bar scene. But some restaurants stay open for late night cocktails (Moonshadow’s) and even karaoke (Cafe Habana).

Malibu is home to the Santa Monica Mountains and there are countless trails to explore. Some local favorites are:
Malibu Creek State Park (the original location of the show M*A*S*H!)

The lifestyle of Malibu is one of laidback luxury. You’ll often see locals grabbing a Sunlife smoothie and walking around barefoot after spending the morning at the beach. In Point Dume, golf carts are used to get to and from the beach or neighbor’s houses. The perfect Malibu day might look like - grabbing a coffee at Cafe De La Plage, heading over to Zuma for a few hours at the beach, grabbing lunch at Malibu Farm on the pier, spending the afternoon walking around the shops at Cross Creek (AKA Malibu Country Mart), and ending the night with dinner at Nobu or it’s adjacent Little Beach House branch of Soho House.
-
Malibu may be on the smaller side, but luxury brands love to have a base there. At Malibu Country Mart you’ll find Oliver Peoples, Paige, ba&sh, Faherty, Vince, Bleusalt, Ron Herman, Chrome Hearts, and John Varvatos. At the Malibu Lumber Yard you’ll see Intermix, Alice and Olivia, and James Perse.

Point Dume: Point Dume is certainly a hot spot in Malibu. Residents enjoy the ocean front living without the noise and traffic of PCH. It’s not unusual to see a celebrity at Lily’s or taking their golf cart to one of the three private, gated beaches.
Broad Beach: Broad Beach is a one mile stretch of beach with 108 homes. The natural beauty is outstanding - rocks, sandy beaches, and a bright blue ocean. The residents have the benefit of being off of PCH, down on Broad Beach Road and on a few adjacent streets.
Malibu Road: Malibu Road is a luxurious street with about 250 homes just off of The Malibu Colony Plaza and Cross Creek. Very centrally located, Malibu Road is a very desirable neighborhood. Keep in mind that there are some geological issues in the area so it is important to do your due diligence when purchasing a property, your agent should know who to call to get the insight into each lot.
Serra Retreat: Serra Retreat is a private, gated community filled with beautiful trees, winding roads, and stunning views. Within walking or biking distance to downtown Malibu, residents enjoy space and outstanding architecture.
